The Mountains are Calling, and I Must Go -John Muir

Today in History, October 1: 1890 – Congress establishes Yosemite National Park in California. John Muir was the park’s champion, and after camping with him in 1903, President Theodore Roosevelt signed a bill adding Yosemite Valley and Mariposa Grove to federal protection.
